Watch the Watch: Great Gift Ideas for Men

“Shopping for a man is harder than solving quadratic equations in the first grade”

Hello Holidays, Hello Cool weather and Hello to the season of family, food and gift giving. FYI, today is my three year anniversary. Usually, my posts are about women’s wear, but this one features two very special guests. My two Sam’s have graciously allowed me to use them as models and I am so excited about his post. I’m talking about some great gift ideas for men this holiday season.

My husband is so hard to shop for it’s not even funny. Anytime I ask him what he wants, he always says “nothing, I’m good babe,” but I know he NEEDS a lot of things. Me on the other hand, I have my Christmas list ready by July. I knew one of my husband’s favorite items besides suits are watches. So, when Jord Watches reached out to me to give their product a try, I knew I had to get daddy Sam one. I AM SO GLAD I DID! This watch is simply amazing! Now, let’s get into some great gift ideas for men this holiday season.

Great gift ideas for men

When I shop for my husband, I try and look for things I know he’ll like or that he can use for work. The first rule of gift giving for men is to not worry about the price but worry about the gesture. I know for my husband, he doesn’t care about labels or cost of an item but he does care about an items’ usability in his everyday life. This watch is worth the price, a statement piece, conversation starter, and he can wear it every day, which he does. Every time we go out and he has it on, people stop to ask about it and I smile a little knowing I did a good job getting it for him. The wood is amazing, the detailing impeccable and the packaging it came in is beautiful. I picked this color because it’s perfect for the fall season and very rich-looking. The second rule of gift giving for that picky man is to try and personalize whatever you buy him. This watch was personalized with the date of our first born son on the inside of it. Little touches like this make this watch a MUST-HAVE and I love this company because they personalize and size it for you before they ship it out. Visit their site HERE to sign up for a special holiday discount for this amazing watch. This watch is a great gift idea for men this season.

I also bought a watch box with my husband’s initials on it so that he can have a place to keep all of his unique wooden watches. The link is up top to purchase this great box to put your new JORD watch inside. Jord watches and this watch case are both great gift ideas for men, especially for Christmas. Visit Jord Wood Watch to see more of their stunning collection.

Sweater Weather

“I can smell Autumn dancing in the breeze”

Happy Sunday Lovies, please take a minute and say a prayer for this planet that we inhabit. There have been natural disasters from Houston, TX all the way to Sierra Leone, Africa. Let’s pray for the wellbeing and restoration of health, home and family for those affected by the storms world-wide.

This weeks look is another simple one. It’s all about sweaters and fall boots. I found a gold knitted sweater at my local Salvation Army thrift store and knew it would be perfect for the Fall weather. The sweater is not too heavy and could be worn with a undershirt beneath it. The gold color is also one of my favorites for the Fall. I put it with a Forever21 red pleated skirt and a short brown pair of old Jessica Simpson booties. I love this simple look.

Linked below is a F21 pleated skirt and a comparable sweater both for $15.99. I also linked a pair of boots that are perfect for the fall. My vintage Dooney and Bourke is old but any great leather bag would go perfect with this look.

Remember Fall is all about layering. My skirt is short and my sweater is long and warm. The booties are short because it’s not cold enough for thigh-highs. Play round with summer items you have in your closet and pair them with boots, sweater, jackets, etc…layer, layer, layer. Let me know what you think of this look and how you plan on revamping your summer clothes into Fall pieces.
